The ancient Roman town in 49 BC Brixia, exhibits its splendor with the Capitolium, the only one Colonia Civica Augusta Northern Italy. In 569 Brescia was conquered by the Lombards and became the Duchy of excellence, so that the Museum of Santa Giulia preserves under the aegis of Unesco the former monastery of San Salvatore, built by King Desiderius. And then the Municipal era with the construction of the Broletto, the Old Duomo also named Rotonda; the proud of Gian Galeazzo Visconti, the castle on Cidneo Hill, one of the most impressive fortified complexes in Italy. Don’t miss over the visit of Santa Giulia, the Pinacoteca Tosio Martinengo – currently closed for renovations, an alternate exhibition was staged at the Museum of Santa Giulia–which houses masterpieces by Raffaello, Lotto, Foppa, Tintoretto, Dürer, Rembrandt, Parmigianino, Morandi and many other masters.
