Historic town of music, listed by UNESCO for the Traditional Violin Maker, was the birthplace of Stradivari and Ponchielli. The town offers beautiful trails, in particular the Town Hall Square, considered one of the most beautiful in Italy, medieval style with its Torrazzo, symbol of Cremona. The Torrazzo is a very high tower with 487 stairs from which you get a very evocative landscape. The Cathedral is also located in the square and considered a splendid work of Romanesque architecture; the baptistery, a characteristic Romanesque orthogonal plan building topped by a graceful loggetta and covered by an ancient pointed dome; the Town Hall, the seat of Government in ancient Cremona. Faced in the Town Hall square you can admire the Loggia dei Militi which was the seat of the militia command’s meetings. Do not miss the fascinating archaeological museum housed in the former Church of San Lorenzo, the unique Museum of Violin, the art gallery Ala Ponzoni with masterpieces of Lombard painting
